I've been working on this piece on and off all summer. I tried writing a little, then leaving it to work on other things. My idea was to try and maintain a bit of perspective and to try to take my time but avoid it feeling stale. Whilst I was 'leaving it alone' I did some revising of older pieces and tried my hand at writing some pieces for SATB and organ. I tried to let the impressions places we visited in Northumbria this summer made on me influence the music and incorporated some of the sketches I made there.
